Ralph Twice, is a fictional, supporting character from the 1982 television series Police Squad! Ralph worked at the Lorman Tire Company until he was laid off.
Background[]
The episode, "A Substantial Gift (The Broken Promise)" starts inside the office of the Acme Credit Union. Jim Johnson is arguing with one of the office workers, a woman called Sally Decker, over a loan of money. Sally needs the money to pay a debt to her orthodontist, a Dr. Zubatski. Jim declines, saying that due to an upcoming audit, he has to balance the credit union's books and can't loan her any more money.
The argument ends as a customer, who is Ralph Twice, recently laid off from the Lorman Tire Company, arrives to cash his last payroll check.
During the extended identification process between Ralph and Jim, Sally devises a scheme to solve her money problems: she shoots both men and then makes it look like Ralph Twice was trying to rob the credit union by planting a gun on him.
