Captain Ed Hocken, is a fictional, recurring character from the 1982 television series Police Squad! He's a member of the Police Squad, a special department of the police force together with Lieutenant Frank Drebin, Officer Norberg, Al and Ted Olsen.
Background[]
Ed is Lieutenant Frank Drebin's boss. It's not exactly clear when he joined the Police Squad but he is the highest ranking policeman seen throughout the show. Ed usually meets Frank at the scene of a crime and sometimes accompanies Frank when he goes to question a witness or suspect.
Ed Hocken was portrayed by George Miller in The Naked Gun: From the Files of Police Squad! The movie franchise that followed the television show's cancellation.
